Kinetochore

A flat structure that forms in a cell during mitosis. It develops on the centromere and connects chromosomes to a mitotic spindle.

Kinetosome

An organelle made up of microtubules, found at the base of undulipodia. Acts as the organizing center for the arrangement of the microtubules, which is 9 pairs surrounding an inner pair. Kinetosomes are similar to centrioles, and have their own unique DNA.

Kingdom

A very general taxonomic division that is above phylum and below domain.
