This element was named after the noted atomic physicist Niels Bohr, who was responsible for providing our current explanation of atomic structure. Not much is known about this element, as it is highly radioactive; indeed, its longest lived isotope lasts only about 17 seconds. It is an artificially generated element, created by bombarding 209Bi with 54Cr. Due to its highly unstable nature, bohrium has no known economic, biological, or practical value so far, outside of physics.
